The History of Hayes Storage
Hayes Storage is recognized as one of the country’s oldest continuously operating companies that ships, stores and transports fine art, antiques and private art collections. Established in 1860 by Thomas G. Hayes, Hayes originally transferred and hauled freight, merchandise and other fine goods throughout the New York City area. Started with one horse and a buggy, the company prospered and remained in the Hayes family until the early 1950s when it was sold to the Cirkers. At that time, Stanley Cirkers was just beginning to focus on the crating, shipping and storage of fine art and antiques. antiques.
